Real experiences of retirement living at Oxford Manor Retirement
In their own words
The best way to understand life at here is through the voices of those who call our community home. Residents and families share their real experiences of care, comfort, and community at Oxford Manor.

Laurie: “Moving here felt like coming home.”
Laurie’s journey to Oxford Manor began with encouragement from her sister during a time when living independently was becoming more difficult. Although she was unsure at first, she explored several retirement communities and ultimately chose Oxford Manor because of its close proximity to family, friends, and the neighbourhood she had always known.
Sheila: “I was greeted with open arms.”
Sheila’s connection to Oxford Manor began long before she moved in. Through her work delivering Meals on Wheels and her time at the hospital, she became familiar with retirement homes in Ingersoll and toured several communities.

“
Everything was surprising as I was always a very independent person. I love it now. I have made some really good friends here, especially our maintenance man Vern.
Yes I would recommend Oxford manor to others. It is different being on my own but is nice as there are other people around to help me if needed. I am also eating properly now as well.

I had done meals on wheels and I worked at the hospital, got to know the homes in Ingersoll, toured them and settled on Oxford Manor as I really like it and knew a couple ladies here. Everyone is really super and nice people here, staff included.
Don’t be concerned about having to stay in your room. There is always lots going on that you can join in if you wish. You are not forced to do anything you don’t want to do. Overall I am very impressed with retirement living.
I definitely would recommend Oxford Manor to others. It’s so important to be around people who have had similar experiences. It sure is different from living in Toronto for a few years but I really do enjoy being here in Ingersoll.
